Joybeads
So this is the beaded casablanca dress story, I named it Joybeads. I don't have a fun story about it, it's just what I called it. I like beads, it's a pretty dress. It was cheap another facebook market place grab. I washed it inside out and hung dry, no problem. This dress was difficult to find a model, it's a very small size. I almost gave up my search and went to the dress form to do a heavy beaded side seam take in, but at the last minute I found this sweet kid. I will not be posting this on my socials yet because she decided she would like to wear this to her prom, we converted it into a no train situation.
Here is the before. It's very loose on her, not too much in the bodice but will be taking in from 0 to 4 on sides, and I am doing a hiney tuck, but just the lower layers leaving the tulle and beading out for her moms request of modesty. We are cutting off the train and making it prom ready.
I considered this the test of all tests, because of the beading, but you know what? I like that part. I just zen out and sew. What I didn't like was the take in, shes very small and reshaping the bodice to keep the curve with all those seed beads.... made me a little batty As you can see. Next time I will remove a little more for the room making. I had her do a try on to check fit before I repopulated, and it was great.
I had a horse hair hem to deal with under all these shananagians, and it went really easy on me, I did use my Lewis machine to blind stich, it took me like 10 minutes. I love this dress. she looks really beautiful. This one, we'll keep off socials until after prom but you can peek....
That was Joybeads, shes out the door.
