Heavy D

 Heavy D is a gown that is gorgeous. It's an Allure I got on FB marketplace for almost nothing, she was the product of a rough breakup. It is the finest construction gown I have to practice on, It has a built in corset bra with a separate closure for the zipper, leaving the wearing woman to look amazing and snatched. It's been worn, so it was hemmed and bustled already.  My model has smaller shoulders than the original woman had, so I did a sides take in, and also the weight to this gown is like a million pounds and it was causing the bodice to roll out on her, like a fan. 

The dress weighs a lot, the hanger strap for the train ripped it self off. I dunno I am a 80's baby and I thought of Heavy D as a good name. Here is the before. Yes I had to wash it, it was dragged through a farm or something rustic and dirty. 

So this dress, you cut the lace sew do the take in, and then sew the lace back up. I love lace dresses, it covers so much. But man is this heavy! The fan out in the bodice was really bothering me.  Eventually I decided to do a gathering type of stich over the sweetheart and give it a good yank, then glue the knots. I think it looks great.  This model is the best sport.
