Happy New Year! Story time....

Happy New Year to all my friends, and neighbors! I have news: my path is taking me places! I have, as of yesterday, filed to have an LLC formation in my state for my own alterations business. The name: Best Day Ever Alterations LLC. I plan on working for dress shops as an independent contractor as they have work for me, and I will carry my own insurance at my home because I will also work for customers privately as they come to me. I wasn't sure on what I wanted so I had interviewed for 2 sewing jobs, and got offered both, and this seems like the most happy agreement. I will be sending out my cards to my favorite shops if they need my help they can call me, and hopefully my new social medias that are starting will help me advertise to my own clients too. This is so exciting, I am a business owner.
Okay so there is a story I promised. That name, Best Day Ever Alterations, WHY? I am going to tell you. I got married in 2002, and I loved my wedding dress. I planned for our wedding for what seemed forever, the many details all trailed from my vision of beauty, my wedding dress. I am not sure if we even picked a date and booked a venue before the dress. I was engaged for 2 years at least I was in a thick subscription of wedding magazines, I knew exactly what I was looking for- a ballgown.  I went to the dress shop my mom got her dress at, and it was the first shopping trip I fell for that gown.  I had a picture in my head since I was a little girl, and I found the one. My dress was an organza tulle Emmanuel with a detachable train. I still love it. I have got it out of storage and I bought a corset kit for it, I am going to retro fit myself(I will post pics), I know it wont fit, but I want to put it on again so bad. I am getting off on a tangent...back to the story. So on my wedding day, all day long, I said/yelled BEST DAY EVER! I am sure if I had a digital video not a tape I could attach a clip, all of my friends, Ryan and mom remember that. It really was the best day ever for me and for my husband, from sun up to sun down, its a core memory.  So that's why I chose that name, because, it's a hidden mission, every bride deserves a Best day ever! It's a milestone in a woman's life, and for a new love, and it's the start of a new family I take it so seriously.  So it's perfect right? I think so.
So Happy New Year, and happy new business!
