You put what in the washing machine?

I have been preparing for the next project and lining up models. I have done some shopping too. I got 2 new dresses yesterday on FB market place. One of them is a Maggie Sotero, the other on is a Davids Bridal. Both beautiful dresses with some FBmarket charm. I got good deals but I also had to do some work to get them ready for use.  I used a washing machine on wedding dresses, and I didn't ruin anything. It was quite the ordeal but I learned something about delicates. and it was an adventure. I am pretty proud of myself.

So dress number one is code name Dirty Maggie. Full skirt 2 piece ball gown. Beaded corset and skirt. It had a hole in the front of the dress when I got it, she said someone put their heel through it on the dance floor. She did tell me it was stained and needed cleaned. In the subway parking lot, I didn't get the full view even though she did want to show me first. So here is before of Dirty Maggie below

She looked ivory, but she's actually white. The shirt had the most damage and was so enormous I washed her separate. I put the bodice and purse in laundry bags. I did the bodice twice, once with woolite and once with oxyclean and woolite. The skirt went inside out and filled my washer. I did once just woolite. It didn't touch the stain, so take 2 was fellsnaptha on a toothbrush, woolite and oxyclean. That did do something for the stain but that wash was repeated a 3 time. It looks much better now, It's white again. There was nicotine involved in the storage. It looks brilliant white now. It needs work to mend the hole for sure, I might have to cut off the remaining stain.

I am pretty happy with the way it came out. It was in pretty bad shape, but its salvageable, and clean. I just need to steam it. I put it away in a clean new dress bag, she's ready for a model. I will continue to call her code name Dirty Maggie. It's funny I had a brand new tags on dress from a store I was jokingly calling it smelly. Ah, ignorance is bliss.  Welcome to my studio Dirty Maggie!
